The Canadian Chamber Orchestra is thrilled to partner with the Art Gallery of Ontario for an electrifying new chapter of their iconic Friday Night series! Throughout the season, hand-picked CCO musicians will take the stage in smaller ensembles, blending bold classical masterworks, contemporary music, original compositions by our own players, and fresh, inventive arrangements of popular favourites. No two nights will be the same. Each performance transforms Walker Court into a vibrant, living soundscape where art, architecture, and exhilarating live music collide for an unforgettable concert experience.

The first concert of the Canadian Chamber Orchestra’s 2024/25 season is “Movie Night” which will be a program of classic and contemporary works that are featured in cinema and TV shows. Composers from Johnny Greenberg to Howard Shore and more will be featured, as well as songs from Canadian cinema. More details to come soon!

PULSE: Stories From the Front Lines of Music & Medicine combines storytelling and live instrumental and vocal music, inviting the audience into a music therapist’s experience of working with individuals with life-limiting illnesses. This performance will feature compositions by Brahms, Debussy, Bach, and Beethoven, alongside songs by The Beatles, George Gershwin, Stephen Schwartz, Queen, and Lady Gaga, with narration by an oncology/palliative care music therapist. Led by cellist Dr. Andrew Ascenzo and music therapist Dr. SarahRose Black, and featuring a superb lineup of guest musicians, including singer-songwriter Michaela Bekenn, violinist Bora Kim, and pianist Tristan Savella, this performance will take place at the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation on April 25th, 2024 at 7:30pm.

At every Clearly Musical Home Concert you can expect a "unique, up-close musical experience that cannot be matched in large concert halls" and a Question & Answer session with the musicians!

Stories from the Front Lines of Music and Medicine combines storytelling and live instrumental and vocal music, inviting the audience into a music therapist’s experience of working with individuals with life-limiting illnesses. This performance will feature classical chamber music alongside popular vocal repertoire, with narration by an oncology/palliative care music therapist. This program will be led by Pulse members, cellist Dr. Andrew Ascenzo and music therapist Dr. SarahRose Black, and will feature a superb lineup of guest musicians.

Andrew performs Camille Saint-Saens’ Cello Concerto No. 1 in A Minor with Keith Read and the Hart House Chamber Strings in the stunning Great Hall at Hart House.
